Detection of Apple Valsa Canker Based on Hyperspectral Imaging

چکیده

Approximately half of the world’s apple production occurs in East Asia, where Valsa canker (AVC) is a prominent disease. This disease affects bark tree, ultimately killing it and resulting significant economic loss. Visual identification diseased area bark, particularly early stages, extremely difficult. In this study, we conducted hyperspectral imaging trunks branches AVC-infected trees revealed that can be identified near-infrared reflectance, even when difficult to distinguish visually. A discriminant analysis using Mahalanobis distance was performed on normalized difference spectral index (NDSI) obtained from measured reflectance. diagnostic model for discriminating between healthy areas created threshold value NDSI. An accuracy assessment presented overall as >0.94 combinations bands at 660–690 nm 720–760 nm. simple applied other tree diseases.

Unconventional Recombination in the Mating Type Locus of Heterothallic Apple Canker Pathogen Valsa mali

Sexual reproduction in filamentous ascomycetes is controlled by the mating type (MAT) locus, including two idiomorphs MAT1-1 and MAT1-2 Understanding the MAT locus can provide clues for unveiling the sexual development and virulence factors for fungal pathogens. The genus Valsa (Sordariomycetes, Diaporthales) contains many tree pathogens responsible for destructive canker diseases. The sexual s...

Candidate effector proteins of the necrotrophic apple canker pathogen Valsa mali can suppress BAX-induced PCD

Canker caused by the Ascomycete Valsa mali is the most destructive disease of apple in Eastern Asia, resulting in yield losses of up to 100%. This necrotrophic fungus induces severe necrosis on apple, eventually leading to the death of the whole tree. Identification of necrosis inducing factors may help to unravel the molecular bases for colonization of apple trees by V. mali. As a first step t...

Delimiting cryptic pathogen species causing apple Valsa canker with multilocus data

Fungal diseases are posing tremendous threats to global economy and food safety. Among them, Valsa canker, caused by fungi of Valsa and their Cytospora anamorphs, has been a serious threat to fruit and forest trees and is one of the most destructive diseases of apple in East Asia, particularly. Accurate and robust delimitation of pathogen species is not only essential for the development of eff...

Study on Interactions between the Major Apple Valsa Canker Pathogen Valsa mali and Its Biocontrol Agent Saccharothrix yanglingensis Hhs.015 Using RT-qPCR

The mechanism of biocontrol agent Saccharothrix yanglingensis Hhs.015 action against Valsa mali, a major apple Valsa canker pathogen, was examined using a novel, sensitive (minimum detection limit 100 pg/μL) and reliably RT-qPCR technique. Prior to lesion formation, total concentration of V. mali in the bark showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) after 24 h of Hhs.015 treatment. This was more p...

3D Gabor Based Hyperspectral Anomaly Detection

Hyperspectral anomaly detection is one of the main challenging topics in both military and civilian fields. The spectral information contained in a hyperspectral cube provides a high ability for anomaly detection. In addition, the costly spatial information of adjacent pixels such as texture can also improve the discrimination between anomalous targets and background. Most studies miss the wort...
